— Overview

Yacht Chiller Service in Naples, FL Done at the Dock.

Chilled-water systems are the most misdiagnosed equipment on a large yacht. A single warm cabin gets blamed on the chiller, the chiller gets replaced, and the real fault — a flow restriction, a tired circulation pump, an air handler or a control setting — stays exactly where it was. In Naples, EJ's diagnoses the whole plant before anything gets quoted.

A proper chiller diagnosis follows the water. Seawater side first: intake, strainer, seawater pump and impeller condition, heat-exchanger approach temperatures and overboard flow. Then the chilled-water loop: circulation pump head and flow, expansion tank and pressure, balancing valve positions, insulation condition and delta-T across each air handler. Then electrical and controls: contactors, sensors, flow switches, VFD parameters and fault history, staging logic and setpoints. Only then does the refrigerant circuit come into it.

Naples yachts also run an unusual duty cycle. Long stays in Naples Bay and area slips on shore power mean the plant runs nearly continuously, accumulating compressor and pump runtime fast while nothing looks wrong at the panel. Faults appear at the margins first — a flow switch on the edge of tripping, a VFD reporting overcurrent, a seawater pump quietly losing head. Catching those early is far cheaper than replacing a plant.

Work is performed onboard at your slip, coordinated with you, your captain or your management company. Findings are explained plainly, quoted before work begins, and the engine room is left the way we found it. Se Habla Español.

— Common Questions

Naples Marine A/C FAQs.

One cabin is warm but the chiller shows no fault. What's wrong?

Almost always that zone's air handler, balancing valve or a flow restriction on its loop — not the chiller. We measure delta-T zone by zone to find it instead of replacing the plant.

Do you service chiller systems on large motor yachts in Naples?

Yes. Chilled-water plants are a core specialty, including circulation and seawater pumps, air handlers, staged compressor controls, sensors and VFDs.

Can chiller work be done in the slip, or does the yacht need a yard?

The large majority is completed dockside. Only work requiring haul-out — certain through-hull or heat-exchanger jobs — needs a yard, and we tell you that up front.

Will you coordinate with my captain or management company?

Yes — access, scheduling, reporting and approvals can all run through whoever manages the vessel.
